What is Google AdSense?

If you do not know what Google AdSense is, Google AdSense is a platform by Google. It is a free platform by Google that lets you earn money on your website by serving advertisements in your articles or sidebars. Earnings are based on user clicks on advertisements, ad impressions, and the type of content you provide, location of your readers and the types of ads being shown to your users. 

 

How does AdSense work?

Well, to start monetizing your content, you need a website. Once you have your website up and running, you can apply for Google AdSense for your website. When you do that Google AdSense will give you a code that you need to add to your website. And once Google AdSense verifies your website, and it meets their terms, your visitors will start seeing the advertisements and you will start making money. When you have a website and apply for monetization. It doesn't mean that Google AdSense will accept your website automatically and start showing ads on your website and make money. Google AdSense is very strict. Google AdSense will take up to a month to verify your website. And thus you need to ensure that your website meets Google AdSense its terms and does not go against any policies. You need to read them all. I know they are a lot but it is worthy. Because once you break or go against their terms, your Google Adsense Account may be terminated and you can never create another adsense account in your lifetime. Here are some key points you need to keep in mind

  • When you create your website Don't rush to apply before checking google AdSense terms and conditions because otherwise your website may end up not to get approved and Google AdSense is good at disapproving websites. 
  • Before applying make sure that your website is two months old or more, you need to let Google know that you didn't just create your website to make money but to share whatever you are writing people who apply in the first month usually their websites don't get approved fast. 
  • Second, you need to write 30 plus unique blog posts or articles on your website. 
  • Thirdly, your website needs to be compliant. Write up the terms and conditions page privacy policy contact page and About Us page.
  • Fourth, make sure your website meets all the Google AdSense guidelines and make sure you do receive at least 100 pageviews per day.

 

When your website gets approved, what happens next? 

 

Well, this is the first part in the monetization with AdSense on your website. When your website is approved, ads will start appearing on your websites and you will start earning money. When you make $100 Google AdSense will require you to enter your payment information you choose how you would like to get paid either via cheque, bank transfer etc. But before you can start getting paid, you will be required to verify your identity. Google AdSense is going to send a pin not via email but in a physical envelop to your location where you are. Once you receive the pin, you will have to enter it in your adsense account and your adsense account will be fully verified.
